Gambling Addiction
“The reward doesn’t come from winning, but from the possibility of winning.”
We typically think of lottery tickets, gaming websites, sports betting, casino games, and electronic gaming machines (EGMs) as gambling. However, even placing bets on what movie will win the Oscar or what color a celebrity will dye their hair next, can be forms of gambling.
We don’t even need to bet money to gamble. Sometimes tokens or “gold coins” represent cash or credit and create an illusion our gamblish isn’t real or as serious.
Broken trust, legal issues, financial issues and struggling to keep the “whole house of cards” hidden are some common consequences of a gambling addiction.
We can help determine if there is a problem and treat it, without judgement.
